5-day trip for Rare Owls, Pipits, Barrow’s Korhaan and other tough birds of South Africa’s interior We start this adventure by looking for African Grass Owl, Barrow’s Korhaan, Orange River Francolin and other sought-after birds that can be found on the outskirts of Johannesburg. We then head westwards to guest farms around Bloemfontein and Kimberly where Kimberly Pipit, Long-tailed Pipit, Melodious Lark and other super-localized birds can be found. We’ll give Burchell’s Courser a try, along with a host of easier southern African endemics. We will also look for Short-clawed Lark. Please note that this itinerary is being developed.
